Default Sat radio????

Hey guys this is my first thread... I just picked up an 06 hemi qcsb. It has the sat radio option on the stereo and what I think is the sat radio antenea on the cab... when I switch to sat radio it goes to channel 163 and just stays there no matter which way I turn the tuner... is this normal if I dont have a subscription? Or is the radio broke? And what does dodge use, Xm/Sirius?

Also, can you use the stock sirius antenna with an aftermarket double din head unit?

the channels won't change because you don't have a subscrition to Sirius. Once you have an account the radio will be fine. Same thing happened to my stock radio when the free trial subscription ran out. No the factory Sat antenna will not work with an after market head unit.

I thought I read somewhere that if you have sat radio and no subscription, when you turn on the sat radio the sirius emergency weather channel will come on... is this true? I get nothing, not even static.
