Default 14x3 Air Cleaner fit question

I went and bought the Edelbrock 14x3 air cleaner today, but I can't find out if this only works on older trucks or not. I have an 08 4.7l. I have looked at about 35 other threads all day long and can't find information on whether or not I can use this set up on my truck. I would appreciate the insight if anyone out there knows for sure. I can still take it all back if it won't work for me.

If you are referring to the round open element type of air cleaner with the wing nut in the center to hold it all down, then it won't work on your truck. the round air cleaners with center wing nut is made for carb, or throttle body injected applications. the newer trucks require either a flat panel drop in filter element that goes in the existing air box, or a complete cold air intake system that replaces the original intake piping and filter box with better flowing tubing and an open cone style filter. Hope this helps.

It would work on a Gen 2 5.2L or 5.9L with the TB on top of the intake, but not the 4.7 or Hemi. Sorry.
