Default h1 HID bulb in fog lights

i bought a set of h1 hid lights for a car that i sold a week later and i was wondering if anyone on here has ever tried to put an h1 bulb in the fog lights of an 02-05 ram 1500. i know it obviously isnt the correct bulb but i know you can sometimes make them work. if anyone has tried this before if you could give me some pointers that would be great. i plan on trying this tomorrow. if it works i will let you know. thanks a lot in advance.

The H1 is designed to be held in place by a retaining clip while the 9006 has tabs on it that lock in to the housing. It may be possible to do what you're thinking but I don't think so. HID bulbs are cheap enough I would just buy the correct bulbs and throw them in with the ballasts you already have.

EXACTLY!!! theres actually a small prong that goes over the plate of the H1 that holds it there rather than a twist lock that the 9006 has. The main component of the HID kit is the Ballast along with the wiring. you have that already taken care of so for a little bit of cash the proper bulb (9006) can be purchased.

ebay has thousands. from my experience on HID kits the quality is all in the ballast, so bulbs arent very important since theyre all basically the same. if i simply needed aftermarket bulbs i would get the cheapest there is as long as you have a decent ballast.
