Nice. I remember reading that article years ago when it came out...long before I owned the ram. It's a lot different re-reading it now that I own one.

 

They ran an extended cab AWD truck vs. a single cab RWD. Of course the Ram won.

I raced one at the track and got waxed by almost a full second -- not that I expected to beat him.

 

The ram was not actually faster (except in the curves). However it was a better value. That is why it won.

I can't believe they say that the silverado looks better! I guess that is all a matter of opinion.

 

The article makes it seem like the SS won. Faster 0-60, faster 1/4s, less brake distance, etc. Personally i don't care which one's more "Bang for the Buck". I want the truck that's going to spank other trucks regardless of cost. I don't really see how you can call the silverado a panzie if it beat the ram in these areas. Given that, i would still never actually pay money for ANY general motors vehicle 1970-present

 

the silverado is a panzie because beside the engine and paint, GM did not really take any bold action when they made it, as in they did not really do anything new other than engine etc. The interior of that truck looked the same as Chevy trucks from many years before. GM should have made a truck you wouldn't be afraid to beat up.

I think the Chevy SS is waay over-priced as well. With the amount you would save by buying a Ram you could get many mods to make it faster than that Cheby.

The LQ9 is no slouch that's for sure...even with the extra 500lbs and parasitic loss of an AWD it still trapped an 89 like the ram.

 

SS AWD did better than a 2WD Ram in most tests. Put a 4WD Ram against the SS and it would get beaten up pretty bad.
I would still rather have my RAM!!!!!
