Default Truck Jerks

Hope someone can help. 02 360 4x4

Just started to notice in the last week or so that when I'm driving down the road, or even under acceleration, and I turn my headlights on, the truck will stumble or jerk hard. Did a search but coudn't find anything related. I can drive with no lights and turn to parking lights with no problem, but when I hit the headlights I get a rev and a jerk. Doesn't matter what gear really. Battery gauge reads ok and the battery isn't quite a year old yet.

Thanks

Yah bad title ... sorry any way I've noticed that it actually does knock the power out enough that the tach drops. Need to find time to look at it.

If it was the alternator, would I notice dimming form other lights and would the gauge read different. So far nothing happens except engine cut-out.

Thanks for the help!
