Question drop shackles... ??

Ok everyone... here is my question. So I'm at Pepboys today and spotted some drop shackles for 40 bucks, and bought them. And I think I put them on wrong, lol. Am I correct in saying that on lots of other trucks, a longer drop shackle is needed because it pushes the body down and the leaf spring up, therefore lowering the rear? But I think in our trucks, mine is an 07 1500, do we need the shorter shackles because of they way they connect? I put the longer shackles on and then I'm pretty sure my truck is two inches higher in the rear now lol... then it hit me. Any input is greatly appreciated!!! I'm kinda confused...

I just installed my 2" drop shackles by McGaughys yesterday. The only way to achieve drop through shackles is if they're shorter than stock shackles. The closer the leaf spring mounts to the frame, the lower the truck will sit. I'll take some pics tomorrow. Mine cost around $100 for the shackles, which i ordered from Moes Performance.

I forgot to get pics but i'll get them tomorrow.

Uploading pictures:

Easiest way is to just set up a photobucket.com account, upload them there, then copy the link under the picture.

You can also upload them on to here. Click "User CP" in the black bar at the top of the page, Then click "Pictures & Albums" in the column on the left, Click "Add Album", after you make an album, there will be a link that says upload picture.

usually people who put drop shackles do it because they don't tow anything. The back end is only up that high so it has room to lower under pressure from trailers/cargo. I keep forgetting to get some pics. I have plenty of before pics so I'll take some current ones and post them tomorrow.
