I wanna do this to my 03 pretty bad,but with my trans currently slipping every once in a while and 180k miles im scared.

I did this mod on my 2002 4.7 1500 and I love it. Everyone is talking about huge differences in WOT, but I noticed a distinct personality change just with normal driving. Throttle response seems more effective, downshifts are more responsive, no more lag. Even pulling out of the driveway, it feels like I don't need as much throttle.

I can definitely feel a difference when getting on the interstate, gets up to speed with more authority and more confident shifts. Either way, a cheap and easy mod that is completely reversible if need be.

You need to do a fluid/filter change if its been over 100k, try that and if you get rid of slipping then try the mod.
I wouldnt do it before then because after a mod we all lilke to try it out and you dont need to stress a tranny that isnt 100%

Oh yeah....I did this mod back in 2005 and now with over 70k+ miles on the clock with no ill effects.
Hope I haven't just jinxed myself right there??? lol.

How do I determine which tranny I have?

I have the '03 but I'm missing that group of wires.

Hmm you shouldnt be missing that group of wires lol.
Build Sheet, or look at your Tranny bottom someone said they may be stamped there.
