Man i had one of those custom under the seat boxes that held 2 twelves. 20 min after install they got so hot on the coil and burned up. What i did was put a slot port memphis box in the back seat, DEEP bass and still can have someone sit back there. Ill get pics when i get home its not the fanciest setup but it looks ok and hits harder than anything i have heard out of a truck.

Just curious, what under seat box did you have that burned up the subs?

.5 cu ft air space is not enough for any sub i would use. Might have not been this brand but it was identical to this one.

JL makes quality stuff. You get what you pay for. Low $$$=crappy sound. Especially in the limited space of the Ram. I have 2-10's and it just wouldn't have been worth the cost and aggrevation for just one sub. if your gonna get one sub, get the best you can. It'll hold it's value if you keep it clean.

I think I'm going to just save my coin the JL Stealthbox setup to go under my rear passenger side unless I change my mind on the whole center console idea.

Hi all, been a long time since I've posted here. Who makes the best single sub box, either a single 10" or single 12" to put under rear seat of an '05 Quad Cab? Seems like alot of people gravitate to the Fox Acoustics but all of their offerings are for dual 12", I only want to take up half of my under seat storage and don't want to go with a center console style box. There doesn't seem to be alot of choices. Here's what I've found so far:

1. JL Stealthbox: single 10", pretty pricey considering it's unpowered, it goes for $599 but I know JL makes nice stuff and the 10" W3 it comes with is supposed to be tuned to the box

2. Q-Logic: Will fit a single 10", box goes for around $270 unloaded, by the time I drop a decent sub in it (thinking Diamond Audio to match the rest of my system), I'm encroaching upon the JL price.

3. Mopar/Kicker: This seems like an interesting option and is $579 or so with the amp. I like the box, don't want the amp. I thought I've read on this forum where somebody got just the box/sub, no amp, and paid $199 for it. Anyone know how many watts this subbox can handle?

4. Subthump - Single 10", box is cheap, $99 unloaded. Of course, I think it's cheap for a reason, people have said it's not well sealed, strange contours inside the box limits what sub you can use and way the box sits, the sub has no room to breathe.

What else it out there? I'm not crafty with MDF and/or fiberglass, so making a box myself is not an option.
Bro I just yesterday swapped out my infinty sub and my oem infinty radio with my Kenwood (which is a pain in the a$$ bc you need to buy a special harness for the aftermarket radio) and put a JL 250/1 and a 10" w3v2 that i had, right into the infinity box and it sounds amazing for 1 10"...I could only imagine what it would sound like in the right box!
I always been a JL supporter since the first time I heard their systems almost 10 years ago!
