Default 2008 4.7 Top Row spark plugs

Has anyone yet changed the top row plugs on their '08 4.7? Mine's due for it, and I don't really feel like taking it to the dealer and getting charged for it when I think it's probably something i can do myself.

Are there any special tools needed? Anyone that has done this, what is the procedure? I'd imagine it's pretty straightforward - remove coils, remove plug, replace plug, replace coils.

Any insight would be helpful.

Thanks...

All you need is a spark plug wrench, socket set, and gapping tool if the plugs are pre-gapped. It's a pretty straightforward job, the only real pain is the hard to reach plugs. There is a DIY floating around somewhere if you search for it.

Pretty easy, I just did mine last week. Take all the airbok stuff off first, and make sure you have something soft to put on the bumper for your knees. The hardest one is the back one on the passenger side.

I have a 2006 but the top row looks the same. Only difference for you is the plug wire coming from each coil going to the extra spark plug.

I know I don't have a 4.7 but you actually change only half the plugs at a time? Wouldn't they wear/foul at the same rate?

when I worked at the dealer, you changed all the plugs at the same time....no different mileage intervals for the plugs on the Hemi or newer 4.7......60K on the Hemi and 30K on the 4.7

The 08 4.7L uses copper plugs on top that get changed every 30K and platinum on the bottom that get changed every 100K.
Cost savings passed on to the consumer.

Bingo.

Thanks for the input guys, I figured it was as straightforward as it looked. Now I just need to find 'em nice and cheap somewhere...
