Default new motor for a AWD 1500 hemi?

This passed week my oil pump went out in my truck and didnt no it bc the needle stayed good and it sounded like i had a crack exhaust so i didnt think much of it. and my Father said my motor was gone, so any one no where i could get a good used motor to put back in it? and i was thinking about a SRT-10 or a daytona motor to put in it?

Truck is an 04 AWD 1500 hemi quad cab with a 4 inch lift. with 113,000 miles on it.

I would check on Ebay. Lots of low mileage one's pulled from wrecks. Can pick up a Hemi for $2500 shipped

Hate to tell you this but oil pumps almost never "go out", if the oil pump is gone with 113k miles the most likely scenario is something else went first and pieces of it got into the pump. It might be cheaper to pull the motor apart, see what failed and then rebuilding it if the block in decent shape. You could also check around on Craigslist and in junkyards for wrecked trucks where the damage is isolated away from the motor.

Daytona is just a regular 5.7 hemi...getting a viper v-10 would be ungodly expensive not including install. How do you know it's the oil pump...is your engine seized?

Could be a lot of things, pull the oil pan off and give her inspection. Run a magnet around the oil pick up and cut open your oil filter, look for shaving and pieces of anything. Also check the oil for any water and the water for any oil. Your motor might not be kaput but the only way to find out is a good inspection. A compression check is a good start to tell you if the top end is ok. So what where the symptoms? Clunking, alot of smoke, grinding, missing, sputtering, seized....

no the truck still starts and runs and still driveable, and no noise or anythin it was POURING down raining and hit a lil puddle of water and soon as i did that thats when it done it. and when your on the gas the oil pressure is good and then when you let off of it then it drops all the way to the left on the marker. i thought i just got water up the pipe bc i have dump on it. and thats not what it was haha...

How's your oil level? If an engines oil gets low it'll suck up the sediment from the bottom and clog the filter which can lead to low pressure.

if the engine is still running, then why did u say that u lost it? you will lose the engine when it doesnt run at all. thats when u know that everything inside is stuck together coz there is no oil left. i think if the engine is still running and there is weird noise then go to the workshop and dont drive the car. i think you have a problem but if u drive it agaon u might make it worse.
