I take the family in the QC every so often. My 2 girls love it, but I think it's because they don't ride in it that often, and it's higher the mini-van. They also love the fact that the windows roll all of the way down.
The only caveats I have found:
4 year old's full car-seat doesn't fit properly without removing the headrest. If you are keeping the seat in there all of the time, then it's not an issue.
The 7 year old's booster seat has a removable back on it. When the back is on her booster, she sits up too straight, and it's very uncomfortable for her. If we remove the back, then she likes it because there is a more natural angle to it (like the in the mini-van).
Otherwise, I have to lift the 4 year old into the truck because I have not purchased step bars yet.
I will state that the mini-van is a very convenient vehicle. We resisted purchasing one for years, and we have had a Durango and a 4 door car before it. Now that we own it, it's awesome. Lots of storage, room for extra kids / adults, very comfortable, etc. My wife won't admit it, but she loves it. My only issue with our '05 T&C is an electrical issue where the door locks stop functioning via the remote or buttons (still work manually). There is supposedly a PCM update which resolves this, for SOME people. That makes me hesitant to spend $100 for something that may not work.

Only thing i can say..... $200mo/new car payment plus the extra $60 or so to insure it is only $260mo. If you fill up the gas tank in the Ram Once a week and sometimes twice a week , it won't cost you a penny more to have a 2nd vehicle like a Caliber or similar.
Plus you'll have the benefit of having 2 cars.

Don't have any kids, but me, my wife and another couple take my truck up to Canada about twice a year to a cabin. We all fit just fine. My wife is 5'8" and my buddies wife is 5'7" and they don't complain at all over the 5 hour trip. Don't see why you woukldn't be able to fit a car seat in.
Thanks for all the replies...
For the one that asked, she's due in November.
We don't drive all that much... when we do any volume of driving, its always on trips to the nearest city, 4.5 hrs away on a very dangerous highway. (Look up Hwy 63 some time)... I like the idea of being in the bigger vehicle...
I don't drive to work, I take a company chartered shuttle, so we don't really need the second vehicle during the week... for the $300+ we'd spend on it, I just don't know if it'd be worth while.... We certainly don't spend that on fuel in the truck as it is....
In the MegaCab they had cleats for mounting the car seat in the middle... they are absent in the QC... is there a safe way to mount it in the middle of the rear seat or do you need to keep it to one side or the other (I know the driver's side is safest).... I just figured it'd be nice for a child, 3-4 years old to be able to see right out the front of the truck.

I have a 07 quad cab with a 3 yr old and a 1 year old with another boy coming in Dec. I have the 3 year old in a booster seat on the passenger side and a rear facing carseat in the middle. I found the middle is the olny place you can fit it without having one of the front seat all the way forward. I'm not sure how I will work the set up with the 3rd baby in there. You will have to remove the headrest from the back to make the carseats work. As for the middle there is not a "latch" connection in the middle so you would need to use the middle seatbelt or you would need to use the latch hooks from the other rear seats. (I know people will disagree with me for doing that) It's a tight fit but it works for us plus I put a cap on the bed so that gives us a ton of cargo space in the rear for strollers, pack-and-plays, juice boxs and whatever you want back there. In your case you will have only 1 baby so you will be fine. Good luck with all the poop diapers. Do you know what your having yet???

I have 3 kids and 3 car seats fit across the back seat. Not may cars that can do that. I also have a grand caravan and I can't get 3 seats across that back seat. I think it works great for a family. We take the truck on vacations to the lake rather than the caravan because I can haul way more stuff, including the boat.

I have my first on the way. Expecting in early Dec. When I bought my 4dr truck in 07' i bought it knowing that i would have kids and would behauling other adults around. My brother is expecting his first in october. His wife and him each have a regular cab pickup and dont' know what they are going to do.
The reality is that almost every household needs a truck. Might as well get the four doors. I would NOT own a minivan.

i have a 5yo daughter and she loves our truck, she can climb in by her self with no running boards and can barely open the door. we all love it and wouldnt think about getting another vehicle, even if we were to have another child.
Same here as most. I have 2 kids and they love to ride. Their seats buckle in just fine and they climb in and out on thier own. My chick drives a Mini Cooper and I dont think I would even try to put two car seats in her car. I dont even like riding in it in the front. It just feels like Im sitting on the road.
