Me and my wife just had a little guy and its fine unloading and loading him into the back seat. Its a bit harder for her because hes getting pretty heavy but as long as you leave the base in the truck its fine you buckle him into his seat before hes even in the vehicle then just click him into the car seat base that we leave in the truck and go.

i can personally attest to the fact that in side on collisions, they will dent pretty good but you stand a good chance of survival. i plan on driving mine when i get married and have youngins.
