Default 5th wheel question

I just bought a hitch of craigs list and i have to get the brakets for the bed rails. How do i tell if i have i have overload springs? The guy who sold it to me said he had dodge brakets off his 03 1/2 ton and im looking on ebay and it says 02-08 1500 and 02-08 2500 w/o overload springs. I have a 08 2500. Thanks!

Overload springs are an extra set of leaf springs that are bolted to your factory springs with some sort of u-bolt or clamp. When your factory spring is compressed to a certain point, the helper spring then starts to take some of the load weight, giving your factory springs a bigger rate. If that makes sense.. lol.
