Really cleaned it up. It will look even better with the rest of the chrome painted.

what prep did you do? how did you remove the chrome?

It is a new grill that wasn't chrome.

Where did you get the shell from? I really want to ditch the chrome one I got on my truck..

Yep I got it from certifit...the grill was like $78 with tax...

I then had it painted at a shop. I thought about doing myself then said nah...I figure the grill is on the front and gets some abuse from bugs, etc. It should be done right.

I have had some work done at this shop before and I knew they were good. It was about $225. That seemed a little high to me and they even told me that Maaco would be cheaper probably, but do you really want to trust something that important to Maaco? I decided to do it anyway. What good is it if I save $75 but the paint starts chipping off and I have to deal with all of that headache?

So a body shop can't paint over the existing chrome grille inserts??
