Default 4X4 dragging

So I went to test if the 4x4 is working right since the crackhead stole it and fudged my left front up.

Worked ok, then when I transfered from dirt to pavement and steered it felt like I was trying push a car or something.

It also makes some weird dragging sounds and has NO power.

This was in 4H and it doesn't feel right should I be able to roll on dry road with out telling any difference from 2WD?

Help me out gang cause if my front diff is fudged I need to take it back as insurance will cover it.

You shouldn't use 4 on dry pavement...you'll bind up your front-end. That could've been what you felt.

I just realized that, good thing I didn't roll 400 miles or something LOL

I pulled onto the pavement and it didn't feel right so I put it back to 2wd.

So is it safe to use 4hi when it snows at 40 to 50 mph?

I have had a few 4x4 vehicles but never had a chance to use the 4x4.

No wait there was the super trooper II I took that up to jardine montana and beat the **** out if it. Even got it submerged in bear creek LOL good times.

the only reason it isnt good to use 4x4 on dry pavement is because it doesnt allow the front to slip. Anytime you're on a surface that has a little give to it, whether it be dirt, mud, snow, or what-have-you, 4x4 is ok to use at any speed. I've done 60 down a highway in 4x4 with snow on it

yeah you can do those speeds 4hi helps you to get going but it doesnt help you in stopping or slowing down. i have seen plenty of times where people in their suv's or 4x4's fly down the highway and later on you see them off of the road or upside down. it has happened to me had it in 4hi and was doing around 45-50 when on a small curve i lost control and slid of the road into oncoming traffic. luckly i didnt hit anybody all that happened is i hit a sign and that was it.
