Default Installed Powerslot rotors + hawk LTS pads yesterday!

Well I got the rotors and pads from Nick at Airram.com. So I started by replacing the pads and rotor on the left side. I believe they were still the factory ones as they were scorched, a pain in my a** to get off, and I probably only had 4,000 miles left until I had no pad left. The left side went very easily and then on to the right side. So I put on the new pads and go to put the caliper back on and I started swearing. As I was going to reset the pistons on the caliper I think I figured out why my truck was hopping when I pressed down the brake. One of the pistons was Shot and I mean SHOT! So I call into the house and have the fiance take me to the auto parts store with the caliper leaking brake fluid in a plastic bag. So to the tune of $93 dollars I was on my way with a new caliper. So I installed that and bleed the brake lines and added some new fluid. I also did the back pads, which took about 5 minutes per side and was on my way. They are as smooth as glass and the combo of the powerslot rotors w/ hawk LTS pads is a great combo. I picked up some brake disk quite silicone, as Dog recommended, and put that on as well. They are smooth as glass and quite as a mouse. Overall it was a rather easy and painless install, with exception to the caliper of course.

Yeah, a dragging caliper can cause you tremendous heat build up which screws with your hub and also very poor MPG.

I would have taken pictures during the install and wrote up a DIY, but I didn't want to touch a camera or my phone with how filthy my hands were. That and I was teaching the fiance how to do the job. How many previous cheerleader/volleyball player's do you know that like to work on cars. lol I can take a picture before I leave for work this morning. I don't have too much time this morning to post it up, but I will get some up at some time today.

For the front two rotors and all four pads it was 370 on my doorstep. I could have saved like ten dollars on a different website, but I wouldn't have gotten them for almost a month and I have a trip coming up in two days. Nick had the whole set on my doorstep within 3 days. And that was ordering mid-day on saturday.

Sounds like you did a good job. It's satisfying to accomplish something like that!

I suggest you properly bed and break-in your new pads and rotors. Read this article: StopTech You can skip the technical part and go to the 'Prevention' section to tell you how to do it. Breaking in your pads and rotors is important, but most people don't do it.
