Help Transmission 08

Default Help Transmission 08

So i have an 08 Dodge Ram four wheel drive and today i did my transmission service it only has 29,659 miles yeah i know not alot but it has had 35's since it had 6,000 miles and have been muddin alot to and of course pull heavy trailers to.So today i drop the pan put in the new filter new gasket and some glue for the gasket bolt it back in put some AMs oil syntetic ATF+4 universal i get to my truck run thrue the gears try to reverse nuthin at all put it in drive nuthin at all then i try all the gears nuthin this was done nice and clean. Can yall think of something i did wrong it is sittin outside my shop i cant drive it at all wont do nuthin please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a hard time reading that.
But, make sure your fluid level is good when the truck is fully warm. You must go through the gears, but that's generally for a flush...hmmm Maybe your filtr is installed worng as it's not picking up fluid to build the pressure needed to change gears?????

fluid was ok and check it twice and i did go thru all the gears but nuthin and the filter was the same thing as the stock one

Did you put in a new o-ring for the flat looking filter? There's two filters in there..

I read on the DIY post that the o ring gasket that seals the flat filter in has to be removed and the new one kind of "pressed" in? Did you do that or did you slide the new gasket over the part of the filter? just a thought

the one that came with the kit would not stay in place so i use the old one

Update 6/18/09 So my truck only havin 29,789 miles on it is gettin a new transmission because the pump went out
