Level Kit and Cool Air Intake Help!!
I have my SuperChips programmer on the way and now I am just gonna go ahead and finishing the small mods before the summer is over.
I have a 08 1500 4x4 with the 5.7 HEMI. I am looking to put a level kit on and I figure a lot you here have done so to your trucks. I am looking to possibly add up to 2" max but also not affect the ride of my truck that much. Let me know what brands you all used and how they rode. Also what tires your are guys running and it they rub at all or have any troubles with em.
I am also looking into a cool air intake and instead of being biased and going straight to the K&N I want to get all the information I can about all the possibilities out there. I have heard good things about the AIRAID's. For those who have put cool air intakes on, let me know what brand you went with and if you noticed any performance gains or losses, mpg gains or losses, and possibly if it created any strange noises.
Thanks for all your help guys.
Cheers!

I'm running a K&N 77-1533. It looks good, performs better than stock filter, has a nice WOT roar, pretty much a standard CAI setup. The installation took a little more than I thought it would, as I had to drop the passenger side front fender inter fender well. This wasn't nessary with a 57-1533 installation on a friends truck. With all that said if I was going to do it again I'd probably use the original OEM (K&N filter) and a Airaid tube http://www.airaidsales.com/AirAid-Jr...Kits-PRD3.aspx. Or a really cool BFI. There is lots of choices out there, go with what you like.

For intakes, it really depends on what you want. Do you want a open filter intake or one that keeps the stock air box?
If you want one that keeps the stock air filter box, a airaid or a homemade one out of pvc or abs pipe ( can also make a homemade 4" full intake) is your best bet.
Im not a fan of k&n intakes on the rams. First off they dont use a large enough tubing, and second the filter does not sit close to the passanger side head light to get the most possible air flow.. The best intakes out right now for the rams is the bfi or vararam intake. The bfi is a 6 inch tube which narrows down to a 3.25 or 3.50 inch. The vararam intake is more of ram air intake effect. Those two intakes are known to be the best out there. Vararam guarantees to lower your 1/4th track times or send it back for a full refund. I know the vararam fits 02-07 hemi's just not sure about the 08s?

Haha, the day I signed for the truck the first thing I did was drive it straight to the exhaust shop. Got me a Cherry Bomb Extreme thrown on, single in dual out, single chamber, truck roars!
I'm liking the looks of the BFI and the reviews I have read about it but the price is getting me, on Airflow Innovations site it is $399 and then it has all these options I have to choose from that I don't really understand and I am having trouble finding it on other sites.
I looked into the Vararam intake for HEMI's and although it is cheaper it looks confusing as hell! The performance gains and access to the tests they ran is really impressive and I am impressed that just that intake can improve so much about a HEMI without other mods. But just with the way those things set up it seems I would have to find some kind of specialist to throw that in and in my town there aren't too many people that could figure out how to throw that bad boy on.
I haven't looked into the AFE, but I will in a bit.
Thanks again guys.
