couple tricks. They sell adjustable poles to stretch across the bed for about $50, but a shower curtain rod for $5 will do just as well.
I almost NEVER have anything shift across the bedrug at all, unless it's a very smooth, flat object, or extremely light. But you can also take some wood blocks and put a screw in each of the 4 corners. Use a screw long enough so the tip comes out the block by a 1/8 or so. The screw tips will grab that bedrug like velcro and hold anything in place, and NO they don't do any damage to the bedrug...
