Default Factory Sattlelite Radio,WILL I LOSE IT????please help

Hi all, I bought my 2006 ram a few weeks ago and it has the factory head unit still in place I am currently recieving sattlite radio free of charge,I assume the previous owner paid for a lifetime subscription or at least a year or two. I'm not sure what the options are,My question is this... if I disconnect the battery for any length of time will I lose the sattlite radio and have to pay to get it turned back on? How do these things work? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advace.

your subscription will have a account number, a code of sorts. Call Sirius and they will guide you through the process. But disconnecting the battery will not lose your account, I did it quite a few times while still using my "One Year Subscription"

If I call Sirius won't that tip them off,I am not the person who bought the subscription so if I call them it seems like they would shut me off or make me pay? I not a cheap skate but why buy the cow when your getting the milk for free right? But the main thing is it's good to know that disconnecting the battery won't shut it off.

It will not go away if you unhook the battery. The subscription is by the number of the Sirius unit in the truck and it just checks when you turn it on and if there is a subscription attached to the unit number, it will work.
When is expires, you will get a 1-800 number on the display to call and renew.
I recently renewed mine for another year. Just listen and enjoy for free as long as possible.
