this was not a thread saying im going to chevy "bullet, teach ect..." it was just a thread statin im tired of seeing chevy crap all over and more or less wanted to no why???
and i will tell you this....i looked at chevys dodges and fords. my next rig will be a ford f 250 superduty nothing against the ram i have owned plenty but they just cant handle a big payloade .

RH - dont go dissin Chevy's now... Remmy the Cowchick you love so much owns that balt thats taken on the semi and a 4runner... So least I can say my car is like me, stubborn to give in to **** to come my way so bring it on!!
and 2nd... glad to see that something else is being said other than my ford pics when I first joined... thats a relief... over on CF though, they have Dodge Ads every now and then, I get confused which one I am on sometimes

Wow! This is the first time I looked at this post,it's amazing how many people took it wrong. I think it's kinda cool taking GM's money like Robin Hood. I have owned Chevy Trucks in the past and they were great no major problems but after seeing my dad,grandpa,best friend,and one other friend get over 200,000 hard miles out of thier Dodge trucks I thought they were worth a try and so far so good.

thats what you get when you ASSume bullet...im not nockin dodge ill still have mine but i need a work horse i have owned many fords all great trucks doggs yes but they seem to tow better than dodge imo ..granted i havend owned a 2500 or 3500 dodge but comparing a 1500 ram vs a f150 the f150 pulled better so im going one step ahead and looking for a good solod f250 to use around the farm and such ill still keep the ram to look prety in lol
you're right, i don't like the chevy ads either. as for getting a ford, good choice IMO. I've worked with dodges and fords and i can say from experience that fords outpull and as a worktruck, outlast dodge by a long shot. are you getting an older ford or a newer one? i know the old 7.3 engines are solid as stone, and require hardly any maintenance. they are also torquey as can be. i don't know how newer ford gas engines do so i can't say. as for new ford diesels i've heard bad things about the new 7.3. i've personally blown 3 dodge 3500 trannys at work in the last 2 years, so as a worktruck i say dodge's weak link is the transmission, even if the CTD can handle it.

Actually, and this is sad, if I were going to buy another truck right now, and it was a new truck, it'd be a Chevy 2500 Duramax.
Although I'd look for a cherry Dodge 3500 non-dually 5.9 CTD, before I did that. IMO the 5.9 Cummins is the best light truck diesel ever made, by anyone, period!
Find one with a manual tranny and the thing will be around forever.
The only one NOT having major issues in the diesel segment is GM. The Cummins 6.7 is a joke, and even Cummins said it wasn't ready for the market in '07, but Chrysler pressured them so they could have the first diesel on the market to meet 2010 emissions standards. I know very few people with a 6.7 who do not make frequent trips to the dealer for CELs, almost always having to do with the emission system.
Ford has cut back costs everywhere on the Powerstroke. The latest "bright move" has been the decision to cut the amount of head bolts (yes the bolts used to keep the head cover on the motor) from eight to four (WTF, this musta cut cost by about $4 on a $50k truck!) This has resulted in everything from gasket issues to blown heads. It has prompted Ford to release a statement to dealers that place the approved HP limit right at factory (stock) specs, meaning if you put something as simple as a cat back exhaust on, and it improves output by 1 HP or 1 FT/LB of Torque, you are not covered if the engine fails.
IMO this IS NOT the time to buy a new truck! Despite advertising by EVERY truck manufacturer saying they are working to cut costs while producing a higher quality product, this is not the case. Instead of cutting the costs of the materials going into the product, how about cutting the multi-million dollar plus salaries of the higher ups? And does the average american auto worker really need to make $73 an hour in salary and benefits?
