I received an Ebay CAI similar to the BOMZ piece for an '03 Ram Hemi. After removing the factory airbox housing the air filter, the mount for the airbox still sits on inner fender. Does this need to be removed to fit the CAI heat shield? Would it be more effective if I scrap the heat shield and run an extension piece off the intake which would place the air filter in opening behind the headlight?
