Yea....quick question, whats the best solution to clean off this gunk on my wheels to prep for paint? Bottle of Simple clean, acetone, gasoline?

not sure,you may want to sand blast them to get it down to where the paint will stick,also do you have any powdercoating places near you? You could just take them there and say "hey make these black,here's some money." Other than that maybe acetone,mineral spirits,for safety sake I would stay away from gasoline.

i hate to say this but i think that those specific rims would look terrible black.
black rims look good and all, just not seeing it on those...

My opinion is some things are suppose to be chromed such as motorcycles, rims and trailer *****.
Bottom line, whatever floats your boat. It's your $$$!
