Default Rim Corrosion(chrome)

Well I took my truck in to the dealer for a few things today. One of which is of course the AC. Blows faint and fairly cool on high but roars in the dash. I know, wastegate.

But all four of my rims have white "Spider veins" on them. You cant feel them on the surface, it looks like the chrome just melted away under the clearcoat. The dealer said they cannot rust and that they are aluminum cast, not possible. I just need to get them polished.

Are they right, or as I have seen on the other forum will it be there from here on out? I need some good answers to yell at them about

They are Alum. cast Under the Plastic chrome covers. They are shoving you out the door. Those plastic chrome covers don't take much maintenance and they shouldn't have any spider marks on them. It's gotta be what you said, because after all...They are a Plastic chrome sprayed cover. i would get them to replace them if it's bad.
Got any pics??

I'm having issues with my rims too matt. My chrome plastic thingys are fine it's the freakin aluminum lip on mine that are oxidizing leaving odd white deposits in spots on the lip. luckily i can just buy a polish to get it off hopefully............

sounds like ur covers are shot though no polishing will fix that they shoudl be replacing your wheels i'd think.

Me as well they told me that they would only cover if it was the plastic crome cover. They said the lip could be due to salt and environmental conditions. Not very happy with this either

This is why I was so firm on getting the Powdercoated wheels and not the Chrome Clad.

Well just got my truck back. They filled my freon and told me I was very low on it. I checked on Monday and it was full.

My rims were due to acid and it is environmentally harmed not due to manufacturer defect. I argued for a while to no avail in front of other customers and they asked me to come in the office and there the service manager told me that "I have the same truck and just use chrome polish to get it off"

So they blew me off and didn't do anything. I called Dodge and gave them a bad service rating and all of that and bitched over the phone and changed dealers. I am taking it up to the other dealer next week
