Default 235 hp BOO! please help...

alright guys,

i have an 07 ram 1500 with the 4.7... i have a trueflow xdi intake (beats the hell outta k&n), magnaflow catback, and a superchips programmer. the intake was dyno'd at 19 hp and 27 tq i believe, i don't know the gains on the magnaflow. and i think the superchips is another 19 hp. so i'd guess i'm pushing around 275 hp (correct me if i'm wrong).

i've spanked the 4.8 chevy (the 5.3 and i take off even then it crawls past me). 4.6 ford ha!... no comparison... the 5.4 beats me off the line but i walk past it (one particular time it was the king ranch haha!) i can't touch the titan, 5.7 tundra, or our very own hemi. it makes me sad...

so the question is... what can i do to my baby to giver her a lot more umph? i got a screamin deal on some jba shorties ($385). i'm going to install them tomorrow... what else is there for the 4.7? new cam? supercharger?

please help...

You cannot add those HP numbers that are "claimed" by the manufacturers. Besides, the are almost always Crank HP if they are that high. No intake will give better than 10rwhp. Also, the catback accents the intake, so you cannot go adding both HP numbers together because it actually starts becoming a wash on HP. You still gain, but it starts getting minimal after a certain point.

Shorty headers won't add much at all. Maybe 5rwhp. Now JBA's have a Patented Firecone which will give better power than other shorties so I will say those may add no more than 10rwhp. however, the JBA's do suffer down low. You'll lose as much as you gain on top end. That is one thing i don't like about them. That happens on most JBA applications?????
If you want power. Bolt on a supercharger. that's the only way to get your 4.7L up to par. i mean you could get haeds and a new cam, but that's more work than bolting on a s/c'er IMO and probably cost around the same. heads alone ar like $2k.
Your probably pushing 250-255hp at the crank which equates to 176rwhp for your beast at 30% drivetrain loss that the Rams have.
No way you took a 5.3L. they simply have more torque and more power than you will ever have by just bolt-ons. maybe he had prairie gears?? I used to own a 4.8L Silverado and a 5.3L would sit right next to me and then start to walk. I had 3:73 gears too. Now, maybe you were neck and neck, but no way did you "spank" one. One truck length is a win not a spank!
A King Ranch is merely a package. it's not a beefed up engine or anything. A Ford 4.6L or a 5.4L will destroy you in pulling power. Fords just have the torque and the tranny geared properly. Our Rams are not good in first gear. The ratio is kinda high IMO. or shall i say low????...lol

What do you have 2wd or 4wd? Are you running same 2wd or same 4wd? Big deiff between a 2wd and 4wd for weight and gearing.

You could always spray...i'm sure the OHC 4.7 can take a 100 shot no prob and it's cheaper than boost or n/a. Get a wet kit..

^^^^ The issue with that is it can get very expensive and it's not all the time. Around here in NY....It's $60 just to fill a 10lb bottle which on a 100shot will last like 5 or 6 runs. besides, a proper N20 set-up is over a grand. Then the normal maintenance of bottle fillings and filter changes.
Spray cost me about $2k to run in my mustang for just one summer. Parts alone were $1600 and then i went through like 4 or 5 bottles at $60 a pop. Then I bought a used Supercharger for $1500 shipped. Vortech V2SQ. I practically stole that one. Mint. and all parts were there. S/C'er is there all the time and has a much more consistent A/F ratio.
I've only seen Zex kits for our trucks. i wouldn't run anything other than NX. No other solonoids can compare to their Iceman one's. Very consistent everytime. Ohh, wet is the only way to go. Dry is so oldschool and to me...It's dangerous and un-predictable.

I heard the best thing to do with the 4.7s are add on 08+ 4.7 parts (intake, cam, heads) because dodge literally gained what, like 75HP on the same engine, with some other add ins of course.

I wish there was a pick and pull bolt up no mod tranny we could use. We lose like 30% through the drivetrain and the Titan loses I think 10%. Supposedly (before dodge went under) Nissan and Dodge were going to trade out some designs, they make a fuel efficient car and we make a heavy duty truck with their engine. That would rock, those Titans are the real deal when it comes to speed.

A guy at my old work had a blown Titan. It really ran, it took my vette for about 150ft. I was really surprised, 4dr 4x4 also!
