I wish there was a pick and pull bolt up no mod tranny we could use. We lose like 30% through the drivetrain and the Titan loses I think 10%. Supposedly (before dodge went under) Nissan and Dodge were going to trade out some designs, they make a fuel efficient car and we make a heavy duty truck with their engine. That would rock, those Titans are the real deal when it comes to speed.

A guy at my old work had a blown Titan. It really ran, it took my vette for about 150ft. I was really surprised, 4dr 4x4 also!

i thought that the 07 and the 08 had the same 4.7. i do know that the 09 4.7 has a helluva lot different engine and i think the went dohc on it but i'm not sure. i do know that the hp went from 235 to 320... that sucks lol.

I believe its 310 not 320, but not sure.

And no, it changed in 08. The 09 has the same 4.7 as 08 but a different 5.7

ahhh touché. i've asked everyone i know that is dodge savy and they have no idea about switching internals. i asked if it was programming that juiced it up but my guy at dodge told me that the programming was a very small part, and that its mainly the new parts. you know anyone that could let me know about that. and if i was going to supercharge it, which route should i take?

p.s. are those HID's?

yes those are HIDs...the number one way to "pimp your ride" haha....

Programming helps a stock truck but REALLY helps a modded truck, a custom tune can really wake up an engine

AIRRAM.com has everything 4.7 he is the authority when it comes to the engine. Take a look at his site, even email him if you need some info.

I think most people on here use Prochargers...Honestly, the most bang for your buck is a supercharger. More power and TORQUE than $2000 worth of internal mods. With a low boost supercharger it won't even require any major mods. Dirtydog will chime in a little later with some numbers and figures, he will be able to guide you if you really want one.

Blown287 on the Dak section has a 4.7L pushing a disgusting amount of power with an alcohol injected supercharger. Big power is gonna cost big money.

Biggest power adders for the 4.7L are generally Hight Output cams (if you can find them) or even 206 cams. Intake, like a FIPK or CAI, exhaust and tuner. Something like Superchips. Best bang for the buck in the 4.7 is the HO Cam.

Spray cost me about $2k to run in my mustang for just one summer. Parts alone were $1600 and then i went through like 4 or 5 bottles at $60 a pop. Then I bought a used Supercharger for $1500 shipped. Vortech V2SQ. I practically stole that one. Mint. and all parts were there. S/C'er is there all the time and has a much more consistent A/F ratio.
I've only seen Zex kits for our trucks. i wouldn't run anything other than NX. No other solonoids can compare to their Iceman one's. Very consistent everytime. Ohh, wet is the only way to go. Dry is so oldschool and to me...It's dangerous and un-predictable.
Damn that really is a good deal...that tops the guy that got his superchips for $100 by far.

It's debatable but it's more like low-mid 20's for dodge and a little less for the titans. There's vids on youtube of rams putting down 270+ and i've seen some put down 240+. Dynojets and stang dynos vary...and then even individual dynos will vary from each other whether they're the same type or not. The only way to be accurate is for eveyone to use the exact same dyno on the same day. Trucks in general have always had a higher drivetrain loss but it would take a very efficient manual car to get only 10% loss.

What year is your vette?

310hp 330lb/ft for the 4.7L in 08. It uses the same block as the older versions but pretty much everything has been upgraded. Even the exhaust manifolds were revised. I don't think that the new heads will work with the old style pistons.

And yes, dry NOS kits are a blown head gasket waiting to happen. Trust me, been there, done that!!
