Not all dealers are terrible.
So after further inspection of my wheels which are the 20x9" with the chrome clad plastic thing and noticing the aluminum lip was turning white with what appeared to be oxidation. I noticed on one of the back wheels it's eating through the paint/powdercoat or whatever is on that aluminum lip and it's flaking off the wheel. called the dealer talked to the service guys and the manager and they said as long as the wheels arn't bent/scratched or anything indicating a collision they are going to order a new set for the truck and the service manager also said this isn't the first time they've had an issue with wheels pitting that they replaced them for. he also said that the chrome clad ones are the main issue. i'm gonna hope they will be ok with just setting me up with a set of the non chrome clad 20x9 that are just straight powder coated.
Make sure you have them put the sticky weights on the inside for the front lip, otherwise, they will put the old school weights on and that will eat through the clear coat by the time you get the tires rebalanced further down the road!
If they can't warranty the switch from chrome clad to Powdercoat, maybe they would be willing to swap off a truck that's on the lot? They will be used of course, but most guys want the clad. I specifically did not want the clad for the reasons you stated and more.

Yea ya see I didn't know about how these chrome clads would do this before purchase now knowing I do not want them anymore. although I think they a bit better with chrome the added hassle isn't worth it.
what exaclty do you mean by sticky weights never heard of this before.

sticky weights are used by the tire shop mostly on aftermarket wheels. they stick on the inside so the weights don't affect the finish or corrode and you can't see them form the outside.
nice well apparently dodge doesn't have a 20" non chrome clad anymore all 20"s come with it and that's how it is. they looked through their computer and I looked on mopar's website and the only place I can find them is online on ebay and the likes. which obviously won't work since they have to get them through DCX and they unfortunately don't have a truck on the lot with them we walked the lot looking for one so that's a no go. It's no big deal the service manager is ordering new ones in for me with the chrome clad. I like the look of the chrome but I do want the durability of the powdercoat. O well it's obvious that these wheels were defective I've seen rams from 06 with these rims and no issues like this so hopefully the next ones will be ok. I wonder though if I could go to a body shop and have them reclear the new rims when I get them that way I know everything is right. O well I want 22" wheels and to have the truck up a few more inches with bigger tires so at least for the time being I'll have wheels that look good and don't have freakin marks in them.
