Default ASP underdrive pulley installed

I got a used underdrive pulley from someone on dodge talk and got around to putting it on today. Removing the original pulley was a huge PITA b/c the puller set I got was almost useless for my truck. Anyway my Dad and I rigged it up and got the original pulley off only to find out the installer in the set was also useless. So tap tap tap until we could thread the original crank bolt up to pull the pulley on. Well it's done and I feel like I gained some torque but not much hp, I will update as I drive it a little more.

Make sure that pulley is bolted on correctly, a guy with a 4.7 seriously damaged his motor when he installed his. He thought he had torqued the bolt down on the pulley, but had actually bottomed it out in the crank. The pulley felt tight, but was acutually wobbling around. Really screwed some sht up.

Thanks for the heads up, we torqued the crank bolt on to about 120 ft/lbs which is a little less then the dodge recommended 130. I started her up and watched the pulley spin for a bit, smooth as silk. I'm planning on changing my transmission fluid tomorrow, should be a simple drain and refill for the nv3500.

EDIT: Well according to ASP's install directions we overtightened the bolt and I forget to put loctite on the threads, so I went back and pulled the bolt off. I put some threadlocker on it and torqued it to 80ft/lbs as ASP's install states to, so far no problems to speak of.

No not really, no oil leaks or anything so that's good. It gave me similar power gains compared to my exhaust and jet chip. MPG is leveled out to about 18.5 most of the time w/ 60/40 city/highway. I really felt like it helped the low end power like I said earlier, but I don't have any dyno numbers for you.

I had the same problem with the removal and install on mine as well. I love mine. I would go through it all again. I have had mine on for quite sometime now and have not had any problems whatsoever. I am considering new exhaust. Still saving pennies!!!
