Default $$$$$ light

After gasing up my truck, and going threw a auomated car wash ( truck was running the whole time ) the check engine light came on, and the truck began running rough, even to the point of back firing on acceleration.

I limped it home and pulled off the batery cables waited for abought ten mim , hooked up the batery cables, truck now runs awsome.... In fact better ...

By bigest fear was I may have blown a 02 sensor, and I wounder for that brief period of time, why the truck was running like a $3 hooker.

Gas cap was tight, truck has the orginal tuning, and I have been running dual ex for two and a half years, What causes the check engine light to come on?

I don't have a OBD 2 reader and I'm not going to dodge to find out.

If the Check engine light comes again, and I can't clear it, Than I will go to the dealer.

Just woundering out loud what are the common issues that set off the add money light in the dash..

If there is an auto zone near you they will read and clear the codes for free. I got a code reader that clears codes for like $50 from wal mart.
