Oil change on a G-56 6spd behind a 5.7
Ok,
Seems simple enough, doesn't it. Well this is just a Heads up for us few "stick" drivers. Dodge in their infinite wisdom, put the crossover pipe for the drivers side exhaust, directly under the drain plug for the tranny. You got 2 options, either drop the exhaust from the manifolds to access the plug, or, go and buy a 14mm allen wrench, cut about 1/2" off the long end (measure it on your own truck to be sure) then you just weasel the hex drive with a 14mm wrench already on it into place and you're home free. after that then it goes easy.
Oh, I ended up buying an oil suction gun to put 6-1/2 qts of fluid back in--really made it a lot easier.
