A friend of mine tried a 6.5 in a tube type box in his 2nd gen reg cab and it sounded nice and tight but it wasn't enough on it's own, he added 2 12's and good 6x9's in the doors and the 6.5 is now collecting dust in his closet. I think a pair of 6.5 would really compliment the system but you need at least one 10 or 12 somewhere in the mix.

It's got a 4.5" mounting depth which is quite a bit. Problem is that you don't have any room even to fab up something in the door because you'll A. Hit the glass or won't be able to roll the windows down or B. You'll have to hack a hole in your door panel and find a way to make it look nice. I myself wanted super tight bass. I went with 10's for that reason and my door speakers kick the mids out of your *** with the proper set-up. Don't go cheap on the amps for good speakers, it's a waste of money on the good speakers.
I think the 6's or 8" subs are gonna dissapoint you in the deep bass dept. They will not hit any low notes as you would hear in a 12" sub. The 10" hits most of them all.
12's for overload boomy music. 10's for tight but some boom 8" for all tightness/not loud and 6", well those are already in the doors.

of coarse... i just ordered a few hours ago mtx thunder forms

they are for 3rd gen quad cabs.. but everywhere i look they say they fit crew cabs as well..

they come with 2 tens in it.. but ima take those out and maybe drop some hertz, re or fi 10s in there... i just want the subs up front to blend it all in...
