Default Bass systems - Lets See it - Im wanting a nice front soundstage

Well there arent to many 4th geners tearing up thier truck yet.. but i want too

So does anyone have any experience dropping some 8" subs in the doors..

I had a JL 10w7 in my center console of my f150 and i loved that the bass didnt come from the back.. My new ram has a center console.. so that option is out.

I want to get peoples opinions on set ups in Rams.

anyone have them under the back seat and how do you like it?

10s, 12s or bigger?

Maybe a blow through from the bed.. all options are on the table here

Its not on a Doge, but my bro has an awesome set-up in his Ranger. Alpine Type R ( i think lol) speakers with 2 Rockford Fosgate P2 12" subs with a cheap Sony X-plode amp. It fricken pounds. Makes your hair and eye-***** vibrate, makes the CD skip sometimes too lol

I know how to get something to pound.. just put a 10w7 in a goofy box and sit on my back seat and throw 1000 watts at it.

My goal is to hear my bass coming from the front of the truck... so 8s in the doors and 6 1/2s in the kick panels would do that somewhat... im just scared ill end up with rattle even if i deadedn it a lot.

im guessing now... 12s under the back seat, 8s in the front doors, 6 1/2 in the panels alog with the tweeters...

i would get started now.. but im worried about shaking my front windows... or getting a sub that will fit (shallow mount) but wont sound good..

I have 3-10's behind my seat. All 3 are Rockford Fosgate p2d4's and they sound amazing. With a 2 farad cap and a RF T-1000 amp pushing it at a 2.34 OHM load. Wish I coulda got it lower. You can hear it from any side of the truck

You don't have the clearance to put anything larger in the doors than what comes stock in them. The glass is super close to the speakers as is. I've got 2-10's under the back seat. problem with pre-fab enslosures is that you cannot put large magnet subs in them because they don't have enough depth clearance so that leaves out a number of "better" subs to go in them. So, I built my own.

I went with MBQuart DB series for the 6.5's and 6x9's in the doors. I have a JBL GTO75.4 channel amp running those and a JBL/Crown BP1100.1 running th 10" Infinity Perfects. The sound is awesome. I'm running a Pioneer Avic-fb90t indash unit. Amps are under the seats.(just enough room....you can see the floormat mold lifting up as it goes under the seat because it's riding up the amps..lol)
I also have a batcap capactior, 1/0awg Stinger pro cable and StingerPro Distro blocks along with a few other goodies that are hidden. Highs re crisp, mids are tight and the bass is firm. What more can a guy ask for?

thats some nice equipment you have there dirty dog

Ive noticed some of the shallow subs are less than 3 inches deep... an i already have 6x9s in the doors... can be too much trouble getting a shallow sub there.. I have no problem with someone cutting up the sheet metal and using fiberglass in necessary.

Ive also noticed that kicker makes a 6.5 cvt sub... I'm wondering if that will fill my need in conjunction with the subs under the back seat.

I wish there was a place that had them up so i could hear them..

If you have some good 6x9s in the doors and get a good amp pushing them you can get alot of bass/mid-bass out of a 6x9. I am running one RF 12" HE2 at 2ohms under the back seat on a RF mono 500w amp,and polk db2's everywhere else and it sounds nice and even and clean throughout the whole cab.
