I got a K&N in the back of my truck right now, hoping to install it today. The only tweaking I've heard of is to cut some 1" holes in the shroud to help it breath a little easier. Anyone else got any advice on that?

The key is to make sure it is actually getting the cold air. If it's trying to seal inside the engine bay, it's not getting the coldest air by far.

i would leave the shroud alone. it comes with a rubber strip to put around the top to make a seal with the hood to " only get " the air coming in from the grill and openings below the truck .

Here's what I got though:

It doesn't really look like its taking air from much of anywhere, unless there's a hole in the fender. The rubber gasket around the top is to "seal" it with the hood.
