What do you want to know. Ported go deeper because they ''breathe'' and sealed hits harder. I put that link out there because you said you were wanting to run Type Rs and I was letting you know of fitment issues.

lol k back to topic.
umm stereo upgrades can be confusing because so many ways to go.
u have the quad cab so ur gunna get that box that goes under ur seats. i dont know much bout them but is they come in a ported, slotted, vented, bandpass i would get that one rather then a sealed box. ported boxes hit deeper bass while sealed gives u tighter and more accuate bass.

type r's are awsome subs i got kicker cvr's but i wanted the alpines. well anyways make sure u get a solid sturdy box. air tight!. the less the box shakes or vibrate the better and louder bass u get. i heaer QC have good cabin gain so the bass travels well and can be heard .
try playing ur music and put something on top of the box like a lighter or watever small and see how much it shakes cuz the less the better.
so ya 3/4 mdf wood is a good size.

uhh rock music is better on sealed and hip hop plays better with a ported box tuned to 37hz or somewhere in the low frequency range. if u get a long box some of them have a board in the middle and some of them dont. it would be better to get the one with a board to help stablize the box better.

uhh vented and ported is the same because they let air out of the enclosure. but there ae different types of ports. my favorite is slot ports instead or the pvc pipes because u get less air noise coming out the port. look up the statistics of ur subs to figure how many cubic inch the box should be according to the manufacture recommendation. ported is usually going to be bigger and heaveir then a sealed box.
