OH ya and if u cant find what u are looking for or dont wanna pay retail u can always make ur own enclosure. usually they are better then the store ones. they have website that let u design the dimentions of the enclosure , port size, frequency ,etc online for free. try googling. just remember it you have to be good with measurements

VP64, not enough room for a bandpass and room for only ONE ported sub since there's less than 1cu/ft to be had under each side. Most ported enclosure's need to be near Exact for size and most require 1cu/ft for a ported 10" and 1.25" for a 12". Cannot go smaller on a potrted box like you can on a sealed box.

When i think of ported, I think of a PVC tube or similar.
When i think of Vented, I think of the slots like Jl boxes have.

Type R's do sound good on the lower end. Bass hits aren't as har or clean as my Kappa's nor can the sub hit the same high notes. One thing to worry about with the TypeR is that they have a 7" or so mounting depth and the magnet is wide at the bottom. I think you'll have issu'es with them hitting unless Weed has tried fitment before>????

Well the type-r's will fit in the fox box i checked all the measurements so it should but im also considering building a box but i want good hard hitting bass but i know thats hard with the little space that we have to work with with out removing the seats.

You checked the measurements? The foxbox says bottom depth is 7.5" with no bigger than a 6.5" magnet. I used to own a 12" TypeR and the magnet was bigger than that! i dunno how much smaller the 10's are as I checked on Alpine's site and they don't give detailed info like JL does??? All they say is bottom mounting depth is 6.8" but that doesn't mean it will fit. The back wall of the box is angled towards the sub. which is why magnet size is the main issue here. Not bottom depth. Sidewall depth needs to be looked at as well.
I'd see if you can find someone to measure one for you!

Silver. i use wood. Not one piece of Fiberglass is in my box. All wood. particle board actually.

This is the set up I ran last year in my van and placed 4th overall in Ontario,Canada for Super Street 1-2 NW Class on dbDrag2008
http://www.termpro.com/asp/competito...69409&Season=0
Did 143.7dB at 36Hz.. with 1200WattsRMS !!!
Now before anyone says ohh i see guys hit 150s all the time.. look at where... they are all burping at around 55hz or so.. aka fart boxes that sound just brutal with music.. over 140 at 36hz is ball shaking to say the least...
Im currently Running two Adire Audio Brahma MK2 12" subs on 2000watts RMS In My Reg Cab truck right now and she pounds.. Got em ported 3.9CuFt @ 28Hz
I took out my center console and built a sub box to replace it

Comming from a guy who has competed in many stereo comps and knows a thing or two,, for starters a sealed box will never hit harder then a ported on the same power.. It will have a punchy sound to it but a very linear response to power and deck volume... Another There is no replacement for displacement except Porting ! A larger box will have deeper bass but less response above 55hz or so.. A Smaller box will be tight and punchy but lack low end bass almost entirely. 37Hz is way toooo high to be concidered a ground pounding deep bass box.. For a pair of Type-R tens to play anywhere near audible in the lower frequencies ie.. 35hz and below I highly recommend a 30hz tuning.. Now your thinking why play that low who does.. if you have subs you listen to hip hop at some point there is no doubt about it.. And I can think of about 100 songs that play well below 35hz.. When you play below the tuning of the box the subs unload and loose all cone control thus damaging them easily.. Simply put 30hz is safer then 37hz and will sound cleaner.
Now what are you actually listening too ?? And be honest with your self..
Rock mostly then Id do Sealed 1.8CuFt internal volume before sub displacement for the pair..
Hiphop/Rap Do somewhere around 2.4CuFt internal volume at 30-32Hz you wont be dissapointed trust me..
Now if you want something just loud and stupid but horribly distorted then go 2.6CuFt at 38Hz and hit some spl comps but you will break your subs in no time..
Sorry for the Rant
I just hate when people get the wrong advice on stereo stuff and expect a ground pounder only to get broken subs and terrible sound.

Thanks
Nick

and i thought it was bad having a rcsb for a sub set up. u can also fill in the subs with some polly fill to trick the subs into thinking they are in a bigger box. works better with sealed. but u dont wanna make a huge box that ur subs cant handle either so get the dimentions from manufactures.
theres so many types of enclosures u can make including tranmission line which are good if u dont have a big amp to get u deep bass with little power. but you are very limited like most of use due to space in the cab unless u remove ur back seats which i highly recomment not to do because lets be realistic, it sucks not having a back seat.

there r those enclsures made for the dodge rams that go under the middle area of ur front seat. i used to see them for sale but not much nemore. its custom made do u have to replace urs with the sub box version. and still looks like factory. an interesting idea.

I took a stereo install class a year ago and was told that every 2 decimal you go up the subs go twice as loud.

ive heard a couple qc rams before and they slap harder from listening outside the cab then mine. thought some of u dont care bout how ur rides system sounds from outside, i like the best of both worlds
