Default Access holes into the cab ?...getting behind rear seats??

I'm trying to run cable for my CB from my toolbox and need an access into my cab from underneath or in the back of the cab. My question is...I've seen a couple access holes from underneath but whats the easiest way to get to them from the inside of the cab? Do I have to pull carpet up?

Also, I see there is some sort of vent between the cab and bed...how do I get to that from the inside of my cab? Do I have to remove the entire seat or is there some way to pull just the top half of the seat out or foward? I couldn't seem to figure it out.

Thanks for the help fellas

i'd just get a longer wire and go through the firewall and run it back underneath.

yea that is an option and thats how i had it done on my old truck but I didn't really like having the cable run that long under the truck on my old dakota...know ya can run it through the frame and well protected. Guess its just personal opinion and peace-of-mind knowing the cables protected in the cab, ya know?

appreciate the input though bud

When I installed the radio in my work pickup, the radio itself is mounted behind the rear seat and I ran the cable through the floor underneath the seat, making sure to seal it up well with silicone afterwards. No problems so far.

to get the back seat top part to fold down you have to remove the bolts at the bottom!

thanks for all the input guys.

I ended up running it through an access hole that came up underneath the rear seat. Pulled the carpet up just a bit from the storage bins under there and ran it down the center of the truck under the carpet. Worked out pretty well but just took some time!
