tranny swap in 5.7 hemi

I'm not saying your wrong I know I still need to change my axle ratio. As far as the gear ratios. Let me be more specific... I"m getting a T56 magnum what just came out recently(april) They have two sets of gear ratios and I'm taking the one with a 2.97. http://www.thedrivenman.com/T56-Magnum.html
Go there and thats the transmission I'm getting. As far as the bell housing issue I have that taken care off and it will bolt right on to a hemi. the place that makes them is called quick something I can'r remember the name at the moment sorry I'll post it later. If you have anymore input feel free to let me knoe

I see now. That transmission is a brute...triple cone synchros 1-4 is nice.
I think you should sit down with a pencil and paper, or Excel, and figure out your ratios with different axle gear options. Your wheel diameter is alot larger than a sports car, and with two overdrives you want to make sure you're not dragging the engine around at 1200 RPM on the highway.

Hey, that tranny looks pretty good. I agree, I'd really like to get rid of my dogamatic. When I did the research last year, it looked like I'd need about $3K in parts to make it happen...tranny, clutch assembly, linkages, bellhousing, etc.

I would doubt you will need a new starter, but you never know...do the current flexplate and your new flywheel have the same number of teeth?
What "Something that will connect to the clutch" mean? There is a starter interrupt switch on the pedal that requires you to depress the clutch before the starter will turn over. You don't need one...some cars even have an override (Tacomas) so you can have a chance of 'bumping' the truck off some railroad tracks or a busy intersection if it dies and won't restart.
What axle gears did you decide on?
