+100

It's just cheap insurance. But at least your getting a blown fuse and not a burnt truck.

Will the relay that came with the kit work with the bigger bulbs?

Are there any good places near the brake or gas pedal?
Poor grounds aren't likely to blow fuses. Is the switch illuminated? Forget the switch ground for a bit, does the fuse blow if the switch is not grounded? On the grounding subject, did you scrape away the paint from the hole so the ground wire is on bare metal?

Yes. I have 100w bulbs in mine and the stock relay is fine.

Thanks for all the info guys. I will recheck everything tonight when I get off work and let you know what I find out. Where did you mount your relay at?

So I ended up rerunning a few of the wires, and I used the relay, got a new switch, and now my Hellas are working and these things are BRIGHT!!! It makes driving at night on back roads so much better!

I like to use the Bosch Heavy Duty 40 amp relays with all high current lighting loads; but if your kit came with a good quality relay - try it first.
