Cool Got myself a new intake

This is only my second mod so far. Its 3" PVC with a Spectre cone filter. I don't know how good that brand is. I left the lower part of the factory filter box to try and block some of the water from splashing on it till i get a chance to make a good box. I still have stock exhaust so I can really hear a difference at about half throttle and up.

I don't remember seeing a DIY on home made intakes so I took a few pictures as I made it to write one up. I'm not 100% finished yet i still need to do another coat of paint and change one more very small thing and I'm done. Also thats not grey thats metallic so it almost looks crome.

Looks great.

Curious how you went about connecting the pvc together and not seeing the "humps" that connect the pipes together?

if you trim the pipes correctly you can butt weld with the solvent glue

and if you buy a plastic welder it is even easier

I made a 4" PVC intake, but I am going to change it out for a 3.5" mandrel bent exhaust pipe. I wish I'd have thought of that sooner. Once I get it installed, I'll post some pictures here.

I used PVC cement rated for 6" tubes. It was only $6.

I like how you trimmed the joint flanges. Makes the intake look much better than if you had left them on there.
