Ok, I live in Atlanta and the other two truck owners I refered to also live here. All of us have the exact same truck 04 4.7l 17"wheels,and Quad cab. I have 20K miles on mine. I try my hardest to get good gas mileage and can't. I don't need to warm my truck up in the mornings. I use 87oct fuel. i don't dog my truck off the line or drive like a nascar driver. I drive 56 miles round trip to work. 1/4 on side streets and 3/4 on highway. Now this is Atlanta highway miles which is bumper to bumper from 6am-10pm. I can't believe someone is getting 20mpg in a hemi!!!!

For what its worht, I just bought an 04 Ram QC Hemi and the first week I got 12.4 in the city and short highway spurts, then I did what I used to do years back and took off the tailgate, to see what would happen, and yesterday, being the first tryout, and today I am getting 15.2.... I tested the drag from the rear tailgate on years ago and found it to be conciderable....call me crazy but I paln on testing it for the entire tank, and will let you know....scared me at first...thought I was dreamin but so far a marked improvement .. will know soon, dosn't take much to use up a tank of gas............lol....GUIDO

I am still getting upwards of 19 on the freeway/ 14 city with my hemi single cab and I have 22,000 miles on it. In fact I had to drag a buick century using a tow dolly back from missouri(600 miles one way) this last week and I got 17 on the way up with just the dolly and 14.5 on the way back with the car on the dolly, I used the cheap(if you consider $1.99 CHEAP) 87 octane, no bed cover, tailgate up, going no less than 70mph either way. All I have done is a modified air intake... nothing else so far.

Just poped off the rope supports off my tail gate and lifted it out. No tools required.

I have an 02 4.7 quad on 17's, limited slip 3.92 rear end. I get 12.3 in the city and 15.5 on the highway with the cruise set at 75. Everything is stock. I just put a cai on it with hope the gas mileage will improve. Ihave about 32000 miles. Duals will be next with a tuneau cover. Love my dodge but gas mileage sucks.
