2004 Ram Quad Cab rear rubbing-like noise
I don't use this vehicle much. I have a Ford econo van I use for work plus my wife has her own car hence the Dodge sits in my driveway a lot. I probably use this Ram mostly on weekends, if then.
After replacing rear brakes and rotors 13 months ago, the rear end noise is back. Cannot believe this problem, I only have a little over 37000 miles on this vehicle and it has been nothing but headaches. I baby this vehicle and I would never , ever, buy a Mopar product again.
i got the same noise, pretty sure its the parking brake dragging, mine started after i installed new rotors and pads, just to lazy to readjust the parking brake.
i'd rather have a mopar with this noise than a ford with a blow engine

In a more serious note, there is a "lemon" in ever bunch and you just happened to get that one with a problem.
I had the same problem happen, i had the noise, though it was the rear end, i found one of the ebrake shoes on left side missing the lining, well it was there, just not together. I ripped the other shoe lining on the left side off and left the right side alone as it looked good. changed rotors and pads, now after 3 months the noise is back im half tempeted to rip the lining off the other side, but i did notice one of my backing plates is actually tweaked causing the shoe not to sit correctly. Dodge wants about 155 ea for the backing plates so it'll wait. Your not the only one with the issue. My 2004 has 83k about to turn 84k, it could be beacuse it sits so much to. Be happy you still have you ebrake and backing plates chevys rust off in the first 5 years.

The problem is you're letting the vehicle sit for long periods of time (probably out int he weather and not in a garage)... Moisture builds up and causes parts like your brakes to corrode and or rust easier. A simple fix would be to apply anti-squeek gel or spray to the back sides of your pads (where they meet the caliper)... Should fix the problem.
anit squeak crap will not be i good idea for the ebrake cuz its a drum set up and the rub/ squeak is not do to brake dust, its due to low quailty parts in the ebrake set up. my truck does not sit. I bought it the end of june with 71k now its about to turn 84k
