Default Exhaust opinions please??

I've been doing alot of thinking on how I want to run my exhaust on my truck and I have it narrowed down to three choices:

1. Magnaflow y or custom y pipe, keep original 3" exhaust going into 3"inlet to dual 2.5" outlet flowmaster 40 ran out to the rear with 3.5" rolled stainless tips.

2. Magnaflow y or custom y pipe, keep original 3" exhaust going into AT3030XL , and either keep exhaust running through the stock resonator and tip or just dump it before the axle.

3. Cut out stock y pipe section, run two 2.5" pipes(to get rid of the sharp bends coming off the drivers side) into a magnaflow 14386 muffler with built in X-pipe dual 2.5" inlet to dual 2.5" outlet and dump it gradually in front of the rear axle (If it does the highway drone i think it will, i'll go ahead and run them out the back).

Im really leaning toward the third option. I think it would be a little different, and i think that if i ever installed some headers the third my compliment them a little more. Just wanted to hear some other opinions? Thanks in advanced.

P.S. Got the windows tinted the other day. Will get some pictures up as soon as i can.

Default Window Tint Pictures

Sorry for the quality. All I had was a crappy camera phone. I went with 20% on the front strip, rear glass and front two side windows. The rears have 35% over the stock and are slightly darker than the 20%. If I had went with 15% the rear glasses would have been too light. I really didn't want to go darker than that cause I didn't want to get hassled by the police.

I would do either 2 or 3 because flowmaster dojn't flow that well and if it's performance you want, then stay away from flowmaster, plus the drone is terrible unless you've got pipes hoing right out the back and even then it can be annoying. I've got a Magnaflow dual exit on the side it's #16701 I believe. Dumps out before the rear tire

I don't k

I like the looks and sound of that. I had thought about running mine out of the side as well, but I wasn't sure if it would get the drone inside the cab like it would if I dumped it before the axle. I was going to try and save myself from buying tips if i wasn't going to run it out somewhere. I don't like the look of just the exhaust pipe sticking out. I'm just looking for something different. My previous trucks have had the exhaust ran out the back and I've had glasspacks and flowmasters. I had a 40 series si/do with turn downs before the axle on my 2004 3.7 dak and when i set the cruise on about 70 I could barely hear myself think cause of the drone. This is the first V8 I've owned and I wasn't sure if it would do the same.

How was your custom y pipe done? Did you keep the stock resonator?

I like option 3 as I went w/ cutting out the stock y and running it into a dual in single out magnaflow w/ built in y and it has worked well. I have heard that since the x or y in the mufflers are perforated they don't balance out the flow as well as true x or y-pipes so that may be something to think about and get more info on. Also I don't know how loud you like it but I have a 14" magnaflow and it's louder than I like, so I would suggest you pick up an 18" as it will still be louder than stock but not too loud.

No drone at all. That's the only thing that has kept me from going to another muffler for a louder one. Anything dumped is gonna drone. You need to get the piping out the back or out the side to eliminate drone.

I think i'm going to go the magnflow route. I think a 14in will do the job. Its funny thinh I was out for lunch earlier today and had to run by the bank. There was a black 06+ QC/SB HEMI sitting it the parking lot. It had the exhaust ran out the side before the rear axle, and had 2 rectangular tips that just barely stuck out about an 1in/1.5in past the lip that hangs from the body( i assume where the body is stamped together). They were tucked away rather nicely, and I have to admit its got me very interested in doing the same. I don't think it was the Gibson super truck exhaust. If you were looking at the end of the tips they are longer horizontally and shorter vertically than the Gibson setup. Almost like a nascar would have except they were polished.
