Default backup camera

I'm lookin to put one in (afraid i'm gonna ram my hitch into some sedan's hood when parking in the city).

I don't have a good feeling about the wireless ones, but can't find a wired one. Can I please get the opinion of people who have one that works, and costs under $100?

Or backup sensors would work too. Anyone put their own in and are happy with them?

thanks

That's what I figured would happen. Static and such?

static, narrow field of view, no depth perception, it was completely worthless!

My son is not visible to the camera in this pic. He is about 3-4' back from the bumper.

oh that's not the problem, I can watch out for kids and stuff just fine. and i can drive just fine, and I know where my truck ends too. but don't know where the little car behind me starts when I'm parallel parking into a spot sized for a sedan. lack of depth perception noted, but something you can learn/ get used to?

so no static or anything like that? what brand?

"VR3" brand. It had TONS of static, along with no depth perception. I was most excited about using it to back up to my boat trailer, but the lack of depth perception made it useless for that. A foot a way from the hitch and a foot under it all looked the same! No problem lining up with the hitch, with or with a camera, it was just knowing when it was right under it that I wanted.

OMG! watch out! lol jk

i have a wireless back up camera. it werks and shows up in color and everything. its one of those ones u add to your license plate frame. but i didnt like the way it looks, plus it covered my chrome dodge frame so i wire tide it above my hitch. hella hidden so people dont try jacking it.

i dont really use it. the camera is wired into the reverse lights power n ground and the lcd monitor is hooked up via cigarette lighter and only turns on when i put it in reverse gear. turns off after a minute when going back to "drive."

the monitor has to be somplace high.umm like above the dash. idk about wired cams because u have to run the wire outside and the full length of your truck.

and also some of the top of the line gps units have a plug in for back up cameras which is cool
