Make sure that your walmart oil is actuall sealed up. Check the bad around the neck. I have heard of a number of people returning their used oil and getting their money back.

Get the hell out of here, I can't believe they would sell used oil. Now I have to go out in the garage and check the seal.

Every other Month here in NY, Advance Auto sells Mobil 1 oil and Mobil 1 Filter(up to 5qts) for $29.99. You can get the Extended for the same price. Also, the 2 extra qts get the discounted price of $2.04 per/qt. I pay $ 35 for a complete 7qt Mobil 1 oil change.

They also have Valvoline Full Synthetic with K&N filter for only $24.99 the opposite months from the Mobil sale.

They have been doing this for a few years now. i just buy a few oil changes at once and store them.

However, Wallyworld is the cheapest i have found otherwise.

Default Minimum mileage for running Synthetic?

Have about 3800 miles on my 09 RAM 1500 5.7 and am bringing it in for its first service. Truck has been run in pretty well hauling two sportbikes up and down the Grapevine (4500ft peak) a few times, and I drove it pretty aggressively after the initial 500 miles.

Is it too early to switch to synthetic. Ran Mobile 1 in my ML320 for years and had good luck with it.

From what I've read there is no reason you can't switch now, but I recommend you use a good filter for the longer drains. Try pureone, mobil 1, or k&n as they are all good filters. If it were my truck I would keep going w/ regular dino oil and shorter OCI's until about 10 or 12k and then switch to synthetic, but that is just my opinion.

I always go to walmart because it is only about 2 min drive. I pay 22 but i have to pay extra 2 jugs.

All oil from walmart for my truck.

Amsoils filters are rated for 25,000 miles or 12 months now. I run an Amsoil filter with 5-30 from them, change it every 6k.
