Knocking sound in steering
I have a 2003 CTD 2500 SRW quad cab. There is a knocking sound comming from my steering colum, shaft, or steering shaft bearing in the floor. It only makes the noise when the vehical sits for a while and when you turn the wheel left or right then goes a way promptly you some times can feel it in the floor. I have taken it into the dealership a few times and they did replace the steering shaft for what they thought was excessive play but did not solve the problem. I also thought it maybe the steering shaft bearing but can not find any evidence of it. The noise has been there since new and i have come to live with it as i have 30k km and it has stayed the same. Does anyone else have this problem??

Hay Armilaria, I just noticed this post and thought I would tell you about a similar but very minor thing I've noticed with my '03 QC 2WD 2500.
At low speeds (or I imagine while stopped) my steering will "sudder" slightly if I turn to the left. Never notice it over 10MPH or when turning right (hehe) but I know it's there even if the stupid dealer techs can't seem to ever notice it. I swear, if TSB's didn't exist those guys would be sitting on their asses all day!
Anyway not exactly what you're describing but similar.
