scratches on 20 inch alloys

Default scratches on 20 inch alloys

these are very slight scuffs and scratches on my alloys any advice on fixing this

Have you tried any polishing compounds? Some products just kinda blend the scuffs in with the surrounding area.

if you live anywhere in texas i know of a shop that rechromes wheels for $40 each, not bat at all...

what pee's me is i just picked up the truck tue only have 160 km
on the truck it was the 1st time i washed it and noticed the scratches!!!!!!!! maybe i should complain to the dealer i know i didn't do it
we live in winnipeg the frozen north canada

be careful about what you use to polish the aluminum wheels, they have a clear coat on them and if you use something abrasive like mothers or the like you'll mess them up

like i said i just got the truck tue.... do the wheels scratch that easy???? all i did was wash them and as i was drying them i noticed the same kind of scratch on each rim abot 3 inches long in a circular motion ????? looks bad

How did you wash the truck? With a mitt, or brush? My guess is that either way, you had a rock, or debris of some kind, on the brush or mitt. Are you sure there aren't other scratches on the body? Or, do you know for a fact that someone isn't messing around with your truck over night or whatever?

no body scratches truck is new 05 150 km
i washed it with soap at car wash then was drying rims with soft towel
no i didnt use brush or anything abrasive

Are you absolutely positive there wasn't any debris on the drying towel? How did you apply the soap to the truck? Or, was it a drive thru style wash? The fact that all of your wheels have the same scratch pattern leads me to believe it had to come directly from the wash.

One more thing: does alloy mean they are aluminum or chrome? If they're chrome, a simple chrome polish could blend the scratches in with the surrounding metal.
