Default Wheeling and Dealing!!

Yes, I am in the market for a truck like I said before and I am pretty sure I found one (2006 1500 Hemi black with black bumpers and all with 47000 miles for $20900). My question for all of you guys and gals is what are some ways for dealing with the salesman to knock down that price. I really havent found anything wrong with the truck but I am not that great at getting a decent amount knocked off the price. So if there are any tips that you truck owners have used would be greatly appreciated. Or even anything I should what out for?? Thanks!!!

ask them to see what they are in to the truck then offer 500 over that.

Get pre-approved if you can, be willing to walk away and do your homework on the value in todays market...use common sense too.

tell them 15-18k tops.. and use nada price guides.. not kbb... credit unions, dealers etc use national automotive dealer association guide book over kelly blue book. offer like 1k over nada value.

just keep the attitude that you dont need to buy a truck, but they need to sell it. seem a little un-interested if you can.

Just tell them a reasonable price and also tell them that you have this money burning a hole in your pocket. also say that this amount is all i have. when i bought my truck it had 37,000 miles on it and i paid $18,000 for it. i walked away from mine cause they said no to my price and they eventually called me back saying that they would take $18,000. just play with them. like redone said, keep that attitude that you dont need to buy it. dont be afraid to walk away. they will most likely call you back for the business. good luck!!

Does seem a bit much for a three-year-old truck in this economy. Slightly high mileage, too. Yep, be prepared to walk away and keep looking.
