if it comes on and goes off when ever it wants i would change the ignition switch first. That is what mine was doing. it ended up burnig the plug that connects to it also. It is a cheap part to i picked it up at advanceauto parts for 23.99

Default ***FIX*** Dodge 2002 1500 Ram 4x4 AC/Heater Blower Motor

Finally after over 1 year of searching, I recieved a clue as to what maybe happening with the inability of my AC/heater blower motor to operate. Guys before you attempt the many possible solutions as to why the fan on the blower located at the feet of the front passenger seat fails to operate, please try this first. The hiring harness to the ignition does not have enough slack to keep plug connector firmly attached.

fix:

1. remove the 10" access panel directly beneath the steering column

2. locate the large wire bundle with connector directly beneath the steering column. It can be identified by large rectangular white plug passing through 1.5" white plastic ring.

3. grab entire wire harness as it passes through the ring and pull towards you to gain more slack for the bundle.

4. firmly seat the plug into the socket.

5. turn on engine and blower fan issue should be resolved.

to keep sufficient slack in the bundle to maintain a tight conection into the plug, use plastic zip ties and dress the wire bundle.

thanks to the person who mentioned this fix..not sure if it was in this forum....i tried everything from fuses to ac blower resistor to fan switch... I didnt try ignition switch however.....

Believe me when I say this has been a trying issue with me...try going thorugh a Wyoming alpine winter without the abiltiy to defrost one's windshield when the temperature is below zero daily not to mention the lack of cool AC in the summer....

Thanks to all and pass this along. I believe I've seen same issue with 03 and 04 model years as well

Default blower

when my resistor went, I just soldered the the copper band with a pencil iron ( 2 years ago) and still works fine.
wish I could solve my a/c condenser motor problem as easy as that

Can someone tell me where the fuse to the heater blower motor is located. It is NOT in the box under the hood I don't think. At least it is not listed in the fuse diagram on the inside cover of the fuse panel under the hood. Many thanks.
