Default AC Install

Bought a 56k mile v6 5spd 95 dodge. A while ago, never had a need for ac. Took it to my mechanic the other day for ac recharge and he told me there was no ac system. Is it feasible to install a system in my truck? http://www.summitracing.com/search/y...g/?Ns=Rank|Asc here are most of the parts. I talked to a local dealer they said 2800 for install, and parts. Mechanic said 2200 if its possible maybe?

So basically can I install said system in my dodge, even though it didn't have it. Also how difficult would it be?

Thanks

Yes you can install it. All manufactures try to standardize every thing to keep cost down. All the mounting points and firewall holes will be there and there will also be an empty place for fuses and a relay in your fuse box. I personally wouldn't pay a cent for install. other than the system the only money i would be out would be for someone to put a charge on the system. 2800 dollars I'd do it myself. The install isn't very hard as long as you have some basic mechanical skills.

plus if the new system doesn't come with the interior controls I'm sure there are some pre-ricer owned trucks in the salvage yard that will have all the panels with controls you will need for a factory looking install.

difficulty level....if you can handle an oil change and wiring a towing harness you're good but remember thats from an experienced mechanic's point of view who has spent almost six years on a submarine so i guess it's all dependent on your mechanical background.

You might try the 2nd gen Ram section for a 95 Ram.
