I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi with 72,000 miles and I noticed sometimes when I am braking and the engine downshifts to 1st gear I get this wierd hard knock and the RPMs drop fast then up...

 

does it happen EVERY time it downshifts? if so sounds like ur trannys goin bad?

 

No not all the time which is wierd... I have no problem returning this truck and looking for another one... I just want to know if its the tranny cause then I can go ahead and either have the dealer replace it or I find a new truck...
